Barnes & Noble - UES - WiFi HotSpot

Barnes & Noble have decided to make their wifi access free at all of their stores.

The Upper East Side store is brand new (opened in June 2009) with two gigantic floors. Take the two escalators down to the lower level where you will find a large open plan cafe between the newsstand and travel section.

There is seating for about 80 consisting of mostly small round tables, but there are a few larger kitchen type tables available where you can spread out.
Along the back wall is a magazine rack a mile long plus four large plasma screen TVs with 24hrs news. At the other end is a small counter where you can get coffee, tea and a limited assortment of pastries and bagels.

There used to be a few wall sockets available but these now have cover plates. Unfortunately this is a growing trend in the city. If you spend a lot of time in wifi hotspots we recommend a portable laptop charger.

This place is fast becoming a favorite watering hole for the laptop crowd. Arrive early if you want to be sure of a seat.

Wifi service is provided by AT&T.
